We have all noticed a change in how we travel to work or school, and walking and cycling are now real alternatives for a lot of us. It’s incumbent that the Council makes sure that it improves the provision of suitable walking and cycling infrastructure throughout Lucan, Palmerstown and Clondalkin.
It must be integrated, intuitive and inviting. Of the four local authorities in Dublin, South Dublin has the most distance to make up and I will fight for active travel facilities that work for pedestrians, cyclists and motorists.
Social distancing will be part of our lives for the foreseeable future and it is important that our footpaths and walkways can facilitate this. The Council’s hedge-cutting schedule starts on October 1st.
Please let me know if there are footpaths or cycle lanes which require repair or trimming of hedging or brambles.
